KUALA LUMPUR, 4 April 2026
- Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier of Malaysia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VariFlight, a leading aviation technology and travel service platform, marking a strategic collaboration to advance next-generation aviation retailing while enhancing the end-to-end passenger experience.

The MoU was signed by Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), and Li Yan, Vice President of Feeyo Technology Co., Ltd., during MATTA Fair, Malaysia's largest consumer travel fair, held in Kuala Lumpur. This milestone marks Malaysia Airlines first next-generation retailing partnership with a Chinese aviation travel platform, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and strengthening its presence in the China market.

Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business from MAG, said: "This partnership represents an important step in our efforts to evolve airline retailing and strengthen our engagement with customers in key markets. As we continue to grow our presence in China, especially following the recent announcement of Malaysia Airlines' new services to Shenzhen and Changsha, we look forward to working with VariFlight to unlock new opportunities, enhance our premium positioning, and deliver more seamless and personalised travel experiences for our customers."

A key focus of the collaboration is to drive more targeted engagement with travellers in China. By combining VariFlight's strengths in flight data, operational insights, and user reach with Malaysia Airlines' premium service offerings and expanding network, the partnership will support stronger brand positioning and high-quality growth in this strategically important market.

The collaboration will be undertaken within a framework of strict cross-border data compliance and privacy protection, aligned with global regulatory standards such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring responsible and secure data utilisation.

Looking ahead, both parties will also explore a shared vision for 'Next-Gen Aviation Travel', including AI-driven personalised recommendations, proactive disruption management, and intelligent service collaboration, to continuously enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency.
